Artist Spotlight: Lime Cordiale

Lime Cordiale is a dynamic Australian pop rock group formed in 2009, consisting of brothers Louis and Oli Leimbach, along with additional members who contribute to their unique sound. They've released multiple albums, with their second album, "14 Steps to a Better You," earning them notable recognition and accolades.



Career:

2009–2016: Early Extended Plays

  • Lime Cordiale, formed in Sydney in September 2009, initially comprised the Leimbach brothers, Louis and Oli, both contributing their multi-instrumental talents to create an exciting sound.

  • The duo's big break came when Icehouse frontman Iva Davies recognized their potential and offered mentorship. They recorded tracks under this guidance.

  • In 2012, they independently released their first extended play (EP) titled "Faceless Cat," which included the standout single "Pretty Girl." This release showcased their signature blend of pop, rock, and jazz influences.


2017–2019: "Permanent Vacation" and "14 Steps to a Better You"

  • In 2017, Lime Cordiale released their debut studio album, "Permanent Vacation," which featured singles like "Temper Temper," "Risky Love," and "Naturally." The album was produced by Dave Hammer and praised for its quality and playful songs.

  • While "Permanent Vacation" reached No. 79 on the ARIA albums chart, the subsequent years were pivotal for the band as they began work on their second studio album, "14 Steps to a Better You."

  • "14 Steps to a Better You" was released in July 2020, and it achieved great success. The album peaked at No. 1 on the ARIA albums chart. It was described as more refined and considered, yet still retaining the band's signature excitement.


2021–Present: "Cordi Elba" and Recent Releases

  • In September 2021, Lime Cordiale collaborated with English actor-musician Idris Elba to create the EP "Cordi Elba," with the lead single "Apple Crumble." The EP peaked at No. 9 on the ARIA charts.

  • In 2022, the band released a new single, "Facts of Life," followed by "Country Club" in July 2022.

  • In June 2023, they unveiled "Imposter Syndrome," marking a strong start to the year.
